La Spezia

Exactly in the centre of the gulf you will find La Spezia, chief town of region and second city of Liguria. Walking among the streets next to the sea is a surprise that the town planning is more similar to Turin than to Genoa, but it is sufficient to enter the heart of the historical centre, that the old town appears, also under the mask of continuous transformations.

The shopping street, Via del Prione, cut into two the ancient medieval centre of the town.
A street of Cafés, shops, but also of Museums: in fact you can find here the Museum Amedeo Lia, housed in the ancient convent of the Monks of St. Francesco da Paola and the Seal museum.
If the sight moves toward the hills surrounding the city you will perceive the castle of San Giorgio.
